Wow, I haven't done a post like this in a while! Haha... I've been pretty good about spending as little money as possible lately, but I got a few little bonuses at work and decided I had earned a tiny shopping trip.
With all the great sales going on at ULTA now, I knew it was the right place to go. Here's a look at what I picked up.
I've been dying for a new moisturizer ever since I ran out about two weeks ago - I had some other stuff on standby, but I've mostly been sneaking some from my mom's collection. After a few days of trying what she uses, though - Olay Regenerist UV Defense Regenerating Lotion - I fell in love with it! And I've heard so many good things. I thought it was a little pricey at first, but then realized it was less than the Aveeno moisturizer I had been using. It's so light and non-greasy, I sometimes forget I've already put it on. The SPF is only 15, but I figured I've been pretty good about staying out of the sun lately anyway.
Along the same lines, I also purchased the Olay Regenerist Night Recovery Moisturizing Treatment. Everywhere I look lately, I'm being told that a night cream is a good idea - especially because cell turnover rate is the highest at night, and skin absorbs the most when we sleep. Of course, they could just be saying that to make you buy more products, but maybe there really is something beneficial to a night cream. I'm liking it so far - very moisturizing, nicely scented, and I woke up this morning with skin that felt fresh and hydrated.
All Olay products at ULA are 15% off through 5/31/08!
Next, I bought two new pieces of makeup - is it any surprise they're both from the new Sally Hansen Natural Beauty collection? Ha, no way!
What was great about these, though, is that the store display also had $2.00 off coupons - and ULTA let me combine it with their buy one, get one 50% off offer for Sally Hansen products! This means I got $2.00 off the first product AND got the second for 50% off! Awesome!
First, I picked up the Luminizing Face Primer. I had some reservations because the amount of product is so small, but I'm always looking for an alternative to super-expensive high-end primers. I'll let you know how I like it!
Second is the Color Comfort Lip Color in Sunburst. I'm not usually a lipstick-wearer, but figured it was worth a shot. I'm also no good at describing colors, but I'd say it's a mauve-pink with a hint of gold shimmer to it. Something like that. It looked pretty in the tube, at least!
It was pretty hard to pull myself away from the rest of the collection once I had seen it in person, though - the eye shadow palettes and lip glosses in particular seemed to be calling out to me... I'll have to return for more later.
Anyway, that's my little ULTA haul and splurge of the month. It isn't much, but I'm still working off my extremely tight budget here. ...Is it October yet? Can I start spending regularly again? Oh, the pain...

Please review the products you bought! Is Olay Regenerist for antia-ging and how much was it? I just use Olay Complete. The regular moisturizer. I'm going to ULTA the end of the month...whoo hoo!
Yes, Regenerist is anti-aging :) So I don't feel I could see the effects properly, but I can review everything else!
Each product is a little pricey - I think originally $18 each :( But like I said, I was paying about that for Aveeno anyway, without all the good technology stuff I've heard about Regenerist. If you're interested keep looking for good sales. I have tried the Complete too, though, and it's a nice moisturizer.
Oh yea, supposedly the Regenerist and Definity lines from Olay are both really similar... but Definity products are almost $30 each!! Crazy huh?
