Welcome to another great recipe of the week! This a fantastic and natural way to soothe your sunburn. It works great, and is very easy to make. Most people have all of these products in their kitchens!
Have fun, and remember to use plenty of sunscreen!
Yield: enough for several mildly sunburnt areas of skinPrep Time: 3 minutes
Price Category: 1
Difficulty Level: 1
Shelf Life: None, keep refrigerated
Ingredients:
5 tablespoons aloe vera juice
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
3 teaspoons sugar
1.5 teaspoons plain yogurt
small amount corn starch (if needed to thicken)
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
3 teaspoons sugar
1.5 teaspoons plain yogurt
small amount corn starch (if needed to thicken)
Blending Procedure:
- Mix the aloe vera juice and the egg together using a wire whisk or fork. Blend evenly but not until it becomes watery.
- Mix in the sugar, beating it lightly to dissolve it and incorporate it evenly throughout the mixture. Set aside.
- In a seperate bowl beat the yogurt until it is very thin, then add it to the rest of the ingredients. If the mixture is too runny to spread on the skin and stay without running, add a bit of corn starch to thicken it. Place the mixture in the refregerator to chill.
- To use, spread the mixture onto a patch of burned skin. Leave on for as long as you like, then rinse with warm water and a soft cloth. Enjoy the naturally cooling sensation on your sunburn!
Always remember to seal your mixtures tightly and keep them away from moisture to prevent unwanted bacterial growth! Some recipes can last a very long time if you prevent contamination and use clean hands when handling.
