It's official - Ellen DeGeneres is the new face of CoverGirl! She's already confirmed the rumors on her show, and her campaign will begin in January. From the official website:
"This funny lady embodies the true nature of being a CoverGirl - smarts, confidence and beauty that flows from the inside out."
I couldn't agree more. Besides, look at her - can you believe she's 50 already? She looks years younger! Perhaps laughter really is the best cosmetic, because Ellen has plenty of it. I'm sure she will also be inspiring women everywhere to feel more beautiful and confident than ever, especially for those 50+ like she is! I have a feeling this will be a great partnership, and Ellen has stated that she is very excited about it as well.

My take? I think the title of my Ellen is the New Face of Covergirl - Yay! post says it all, hehe. Glad to see you picked up on this too.
You've got to hand it to cover girl, that is a seriously impressive move. Imagine if other companies took on other unusual beauty icons, like Fran Lebowitz or Tilda Swinton. I think it would do wonders for their company image and for how every other woman who doesn't look like Heather Locklear or an America's Next Top Model contestant feel about themselves. Kudos Kudos. By the way I love your blog, I too am young and perpetually broke. I do have a big taste for expensive cosmetics but always do venture to the drugstore to try out new stuff. I've started writing a beauty blog recently with my misadventures posted.
