Happy April, everyone!
Today's EOTD is the result of me wanting to try another smoky eye, this time using only one color (aside from the highlighter). It was pretty difficult!
It's a little messy, but I have yet to perfect any look. Still an improvement over the one I posted several months ago - no more bright white shimmer under my brow. ;) The inspiration hit when I swatched an old powder shadow I had in my makeup case, Revlon Bedroom Eyes Powder Liner in Jet. It's a gorgeous dark black with purple shimmer, and I couldn't resist using it!
Feel free to share your tips for the perfect smoky eye!

On Eyes:
Urban Decay Eye Shadow Primer Potion
Revlon Bedroom Eyes Powder Liner in Jet
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eyeliner in Zero
ULTA in Naked
Maybelline Lash Stiletto Mascara
And that's it! Let's see if I can create a new look every day this week! It'll be great practice. :)

this is super pretty!!!!
I think it's pretty.
One thing I sometimes do is:
1. Too Faced Shadow Insurance (or any base you like)
2. inner 1/2 to 2/3 of eye lid put a cream eye shadow like MAC Bare Study
3. outer 1/2 to 1/3 of eye lid put a cream eye shadow like MAC Blackground
4. apply any lighter eye shadow color you choose to the eyelid. I've had some cool results with MAC's Shimmermoss
5. Apply MAC's Cloudburst (or any black you like) to the outer 1/4 of eye and crease and blend inward, and apply it to the lower lash line. On the inner 1/2 of the lower lash line you can apply the lighter color Shimmermoss.
6. For highlight you can apply a MAC color like Vapour, which isn't too shimmery.
Anyway, I think the cream eye shadow really helps when you blend for the black/smoky effect :)
Nikki - Thanks! :)
Phyrra - That sounds interesting... do you happen to have any examples of that look on your site yet? If not, you should so I can see what you mean... and a tutorial, too ;) Haha. Thanks!
I'll try to do a video tutorial.
Here's a link to what some of them look like:

Pretty! I like the shimmer in the shadow. When I do smokey eyes I always do double bases like udpp and a paint pot because the paint pot makes it easier to blend out the color. When I use one color like you did I put the most color just on the lid kind of low and don't add anymore just blend what I have on the lid upwards to create that fade all the way up and stop below the area I'm putting my highlight color.
