What are your plans? After work, I'm heading home to relax and enjoy some time with my boyfriend's family. :) While my own parents stopped the tradition of "Easter baskets" long ago, my boyfriend's parents still hand them out to us "kids!" Don't you love Easter candy?

Hi Jenn! Happy Easter! Hope you had fun with family! And thanks for the comment, of course my reply was out of anger, if it was about me I wouldn't care, but I took it as if my sister didn't deserve such a party, and she was insinuating that my family was rich and was just "wasting money". It wasn't so much replying back to her for the sole purpose of sounding hateful, but to show her it's not just MY culture this occurs, to be honest it wasn't about being a better person or not. It was just a matter of speaking MY mind on MY blog, as she obviously did. It's the context and manner it was said, and I understand it's her opinion but there is definitely a way of talking to people and getting your point across without sounding so accusatory also.
If she was truly curious about learning about a new culture she would have asked like so, but it was rude and I was wrong in replying back while I was so heated, even though I know I could have very well handled it in a worse way. I think jealousy also makes people react in different ways in different situations, and I don't think she was being jealous at all but again I can see how or why people would say that because it's so easy to label people like when they disagree with one another. Either way, I know where I was wrong and it's in the past, people just need to learn how to get their point across without being berating.
