If you've been reading my blog for a while, you might notice that while I have a lot of praise for body wash, there is no mention of bar soap to be found. That's because I had yet to find a bar soap I liked and refused to use one... until now.
L'Occitane Extra Gentle Shea Butter Soap is, hands down, my favorite bar soap - and the only one I'll use. As the name implies, it's an extremely gentle, moisturizing soap you can use every day. It's made with natural ingredients that aren't harsh (unlike the sulfates and other chemicals found in traditional soaps) and won't strip your skin of its natural moisture barrier. Surprisingly, it also lathers like a dream, even when used directly on the skin!
The soap comes in a variety of absolutely amazing scents that you're sure to love, too. Cinnamon orange, pictured above, is my favorite. Every time I use it, my bathroom smells delicious for days!
The soap is formulated in a 100% vegetable oil base and features the wonderful benefits of shea butter, which nourishes, softens, and conditions dry skin. Needless to say, it's been like a drink of water for my parched desert skin this summer. The first day I used it, the flakiness I usually experienced after every shower was nowhere to be seen - and I haven't put it down since.
Body washes, better watch your back. This soap just might take your spot in the shower caddy.
