Review: Dove Body Wash with NutriumMoisture

As everyone probably knows by now, I'm a huge fan of body wash - I have at least 5 in my shower at any given point in time (along with a bar soap or two). New products go in and out of rotation all the time, but I think I've finally found one that has earned a rare spot on my list of all-time faves: Dove Body Wash with NutriumMoisture.

Results: The new Dove Body Wash with NutriumMoisture collection features an innovative take on old-fashioned body wash - 100% natural moisturizing ingredients nourish skin, rather than damaging it or stripping it of natural oils and lipids. In addition, the makers claim that while traditional moisturizers sit on top of the skin, those used in the new Dove body washes penetrate deeper and moisturize more effectively.

Onto the product itself: first, it feels amazing. It is definitely the thickest, richest body wash I've ever tried, and feels much more like a lotion. In fact, I'd say it's thicker than some body lotions I've tried! Like other Dove products, it contains a light, fresh, clean scent that is not overly feminine nor overpowering.

If you have sensitive skin, as I sometimes do, then the fragrance-free version is a great option for you - it has the same formula without any added fragrances and is soap-free, but still smells just as pleasant.

But how does the body wash perform? Exactly as Dove claims. I was worried that with the thickness of the product, it would feel greasy or oily when rinsed, but this is absolutely not true. It has a super-creamy, luxurious lather that washes completely clean, leaving no feeling of residue after. My skin felt noticeably softer and smoother after one use, and the results improved with each week, eliminating several dry spots on my arms and legs and reducing flakiness significantly. Not even the hard water of my shower can stand up to this body wash!

If you want a little exfoliation added to your cleansing routine, try the Gentle Exfoliating body wash. However, be warned that the formula is not quite as moisturizing as the others, and may not be best for sensitive skin. It's excellent for smoothing away rough, dry spots and polishing dull skin, though.

Overall, the entire collection is worth a try for everyone, especially those suffering from dry, dehydrated skin. With winter just around the corner, I highly recommend these products for keeping your skin in top shape - moisturized, smooth, and full of softness. This is truly a body wash to threaten your post-shower lotion, and after a few weeks of using Dove Body Wash with NutriumMoisture, you'll surely be slathering that lotion on a lot less.
