Review: Slimmer Silhouette Body Wraps
Hello, dear readers! How has 2010 been treating you so far? Did you make any resolutions for the new year? I'm sure many of you have made it your goal to lose pounds and inches this year... and I'd like to share a product that might be able to help!
When the people at Slimmer Silhouette asked me about testing their system of at-home body wraps, I was ecstatic! I had just started my new fitness program and knew wraps would be the perfect complement. However, I was also extremely skeptical. Don't most body wraps just eliminate water weight? And how would an at-home system work, if at all?
Let me tell you, though: these wraps are awesome. Keep reading for my experience and review!
The Slimmer Silhouette Slimmer Body Wrap system is available in two kits - the Ultimate Package and the Target Area Package. Both are essentially the same, the difference being the amount of wraps you choose depending on your needs. If you desire some serious all-over slimming, the Ultimate Package contains 12 wraps. If you're already comfortable with your shape and just want to do a little "spot treating," the Target Area Package contains four wraps, perfect for zoning in on those pesky problem areas!
Both kits also contain the following:

How do the wraps work? Rather than simply causing water loss, which is the effect of most body wraps, Slimmer Silhouette's "proprietary mineral solution" aims to draw impurities and contaminates trapped around fat cells and tissues. This leads to compaction of the tissue and inch loss, and possibly an array of other reported benefits - including more restful sleep, stress relief, skin tightening and toning, and improved appearance of cellulite.
The wrapping process is fairly simple, and the company suggests setting aside about 90 minutes per session (about the same time you'd spend getting a similar treatment at a spa). I highly suggest having someone you trust on hand to help you for your first wrap, especially if you're nervous! First, you'll need to take all your measurements with the included measuring tape. The instruction manual has a helpful diagram if you're stuck on where to measure yourself. After soaking the wraps in warm mineral solution, you'll begin wrapping your body from your feet up. This is definitely the trickiest part, and one you may need help with for your first time! However, don't be intimidated, because it's quite easy once you get the hang of it.
After you're all wrapped up, you'll need to keep yourself warm by moving around a bit. Every 15 minutes, you must re-hydrate your wraps with your water bottle and your remaining solution. After 60 minutes, you can un-wrap, re-measure yourself, and enjoy your results - that's it! Pretty easy, right?
Now on to the good stuff... my results! I'm sure you're curious to know just how well these work. After my first wrap, I was amazed to find that I lost over 7 inches from my entire body. Seven inches in one hour! Sure beats hitting the gym, doesn't it? Your results, of course, could be much more significant, or they could be less. What about the price? Is the at-home body wrap system cheaper than a series of spa wraps? Yes! While the initial package prices may sound a little high, once the math is done, the value of this system easily outweighs that of wraps done at the spa. The Ultimate Package costs $250, while the Target Area Package runs for $150. When you consider the fact that an in-spa body wrap costs an average of $100-200 - that's ONE wrap - the price of an entire Slimmer Silhouette kit will easily save you hundreds. Overall, my experience with the Slimmer Silhouette body wrap system was extremely positive and rewarding. With just a little effort, I was able to achieve some fabulous results that complemented my fitness regime perfectly (my personal trainer was amazed at my inch loss!). Better still, I was able to do it safely in the comfort of my own home, with no down time, discomfort, or embarrassment. Definitely preferred over the pricey spa experience!
